Karen Waddell and her staff at Bali Good Food Catering
were amazing to work with and provided a high quality
and affordable 4* star meal for our 110 guest wedding
party in Ubud, Bali February 22, 2008. The event was
truly unforgettable and the quality of food, beverage,
presentation, decoration and service was impeccable.
Choices - We started working
with Karen and her staff during a pre-wedding trip July
2008, and knowing she was behind the successful ownership
and operation of Ubud’s top restaurants (Kafe
Batan Waru, Cinta, and Terazo) we knew her catering
services would reflect equally the quality and service
we get from these fine establishments. We did a tasting
menu at all of her restaurants, and the choices were
astounding and we were able to pick a set of appetizers,
2 main courses, dessert, and appertifs that complemented
all our guests palates (international and local cuisines).
Some of our guests who are caterers, chefs, or in the
hotel industry were equally impressed with it all and
the friendly professional service of her staff. The
table decorations, settings, arrangement, set up of
round tables, tents etc went off without a hitch as
we planned for both sun and rain.
Flexibility – from July
to the date of the wedding in February, we started out
with an expected guest confirmation of 50, which quickly
turned to 75, then to 110 with children. Karen adapted
to our needs and we worked together on configuring the
space and mood environment in a very intimate villa
setting. Not many caterers I know would do this without
charging you an exorbitant fee for accommodating your
ever changing needs & demands.
Planning from overseas –
As we do not live in Bali, we were able to communicate
over email with timely responses from Karen and her
staff. This gave us peace of mind that things were being
worked on and trust was established between both parties
quickly.
As I have been to other weddings in Bali and have had
wonderful catered meals at other ceremony events, I
would not hesitate to recommend Bali Good Food Catering
as being on par or steps ahead of the competition. Also
a true friendship and connection was made with Karen
as she is a delightful, worldly and positive person
to be around.

BGF Catering provided the catering for two functions
at our rented villa complex in Bali in June last year:
my daughter’s Wedding and separately my wife’s
special Birthday celebration.
We
had 150 guests at the Wedding for cocktails, dinner,
drinks and dancing and 30 for a seated full dinner with
entertainment for the Birthday.
Karen
and her team provided an absolutely superb menu with
first class service at both functions and our guests
from all over the world were unanimous in their praises.
My wife and I believe that Karen and BGF provide top
quality on an international scale in both food and service.
We
have no hesitation in recommending BGF Catering in the
highest terms.
